Inter Milan remain in the fight for the title

Although Inter Milan made ​​only a draw in Friday’s match against Brescia, the title chances remained unchanged.

Friday was the match between Brescia and Inter Milan, that seemed an easy one for Inter. But it was not that simple  and after a first half where Inter played well, half which ended 1-0 for Inter after the goal scored by Samuel Eto’o in the 18th minute. The second round was a nightmare for Inter.The match seemed to end  1-0  for Inter until the 85th minute , when Caracciolo scored the equalizer goal.

Moreover Inter could remain without  points. In the 89th minute Cordoba,  fouled into the box and the referee dictates penalty for Brescia.Inter’s goalkeeper Julio Cesar saved the penalty from Caracciolo, and Inter leave with a point from Brescia.

This seemed to be  perfect time for Milan to take 7 points advantage on Inter Milan, especially that they had a easy  match, against the last Serie A, Bari.But Milan failed to win this match, and the distance from  Inter remain unchanged, 5 points when there are nine matches to be played in this championship.

The team who took advantages for the missteps by those two teams is Napoli,which is now six points of AC Milan and 1 point from Inter, and Napoli entering again in battle for title.

Julio Cesar began his professional career with  Flamengo in 1997 . By 2000, he was the first choice goalkeeper
for Flamengo and win the Campeonato Carioca four times.

In short time he  became a fan favorite for Flamengo. In January 2005 Julio Cesar was signed on a free transfer by Chievo Verona where he failed to make an appearance.
In July 2005 the Brazilian signed a  contract with Internazionale Milano. Everybody expected to be second choice goalkeeper for Inter Milan, where Francesco Toldo was in good form.
In 2005–2006 season saw him sitting on the bench throughout the entire season. At Brazil, the goalkeeper was the third option for Carlos Alberto Parreira in the 2006 World Cup.
In the next season in Seria A he won the battle with Toldo and he became Inter goalkeeper first choice.
In 2009,  IFFHS named him as the third best goalkeeper in the world, behind  Iker Casillas and Gianluigi Buffon.

Julio Cesar was also awarded the Serie A Goalkeeper of the Year title in 2009, ahead of Buffon of Juventus and Federico Marchetti of Cagliari.  He was nominated for the 2009 Ballon d’Or and he finished into 21st place, Casillas was the only other goalkeeper nominated.

In September 2007  with new coach Dunga, Julio Cesar became goalkeeper number 1 to national team and he answered the call with great performances.
Since then Julio Cesar is the holder of the national team goalkeeper and Inter’s first choice.

julio Cesar, one of the reasons for Inter success

Few people know that one of the strengths for Inter in the last couple of seasons was the Brazilian goalkeeper Julio Cesar.
Julio Cesar was signed by Inter in 2004 but made the first appearance for “the nerazzurri” only in 2005.
The Brazilian was brought at San Siro as a backup for much more valuable at that time Francesco Toldo.
Julio Cesar had an impressive series of evolutions and Mancini decided to offer him the starting role in Inter’s team. Since then Cesar contributed decisively to the success of the team.

The Brazilian offered security and constancy for Inter’s defence.
Besides the fact that he is a good shoot stopper Cesar is recognized for playing the ball well with his foots and more then that he likes to take penalties.
The 29 year-old goalkeeper proved again how important is for Inter this week, in Champions League match against Manchester United, having some great saves that could prove to be decisive for the qualification into the last eight.
At the moment Julio Cesar is one of the best goalkeepers in the world and if we consider his age we can say that he can remain on top for a long time.
